J.F. Ingram State Technical College is proud to partner with the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles for the Changing the Course Art Show, an event that highlights the creativity and talent of justice-involved individuals across Alabama. The exhibit showcases a wide variety of student artwork, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, poetry, and speech pieces that reflect personal growth, resilience, and hope for the future.
For many of Ingram State’s students, art serves as more than just a creative outlet—it becomes a powerful tool for self-expression and transformation. Through art, students are able to process experiences, reflect on their journey, and communicate their stories in ways that words alone cannot capture. This creative process helps build confidence, encourages positive thinking, and reminds students that their voices and talents matter.
The Changing the Course Art Show provides an opportunity for the public to see the human side of justice-involved individuals and recognize the potential that exists when people are given access to education, support, and second chances. Each piece displayed represents dedication, perseverance, and the belief that a different path forward is possible.
J.F. Ingram State Technical College remains committed to providing educational and personal development opportunities that empower students to build brighter futures. Seeing our students’ artwork featured in this statewide exhibit is a proud moment for our college and a reminder that creativity can inspire change, healing, and new beginnings.
