The Ingram State Technical College Foundation raised nearly $20,000 in net proceeds during its annual Raising 4 Workforce Reentry event, providing critical support for students and graduates as they transition from incarceration to successful careers and productive lives in their communities.
The event brought together community leaders, business partners, alumni, and supporters for an evening celebrating the transformative power of workforce education. Guests enjoyed a special performance by Taylor Hicks, made possible through the generous support of River Bank & Trust, the event's Entertainment Sponsor.
While Ingram State Technical College equips students with industry-recognized credentials and hands-on workforce training, the Foundation helps bridge the gap between graduation and employment by providing assistance with career tool kits, transportation, temporary housing, work-related clothing and supplies, licensing and certification fees, and other essential resources that help graduates successfully enter the workforce.
"The generosity of our supporters extends far beyond a single evening—it creates opportunities that change lives," said ISTC President David Walters. "Our students work hard to earn valuable workforce credentials, but success after graduation often depends on having the right tools, reliable transportation, or other basic resources. Through the Foundation, we're able to help remove those barriers so our graduates can focus on building careers, supporting their families, and contributing to Alabama's workforce."
The Ingram State Technical College Foundation serves as a vital partner in the College's mission by providing resources that complement workforce education and support students beyond the classroom. These investments help graduates overcome obstacles during reentry and reinforce the Foundation's commitment to expanding opportunities for long-term success.
The Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to every sponsor, donor, volunteer, silent auction participant, and guest who made this year's event possible. A special thank you goes to River Bank & Trust for its generous sponsorship of the evening's entertainment and to Taylor Hicks for an outstanding performance that helped make the event a memorable celebration of education, opportunity, and hope.
The Ingram State Technical College Foundation remains committed to ensuring that students have not only the education and training to succeed, but also the resources needed to begin the next chapter of their lives with confidence. Together, our supporters are helping create pathways to employment, strengthen Alabama's workforce, and transform lives through the power of education.
